Taylor Swift is someone you can’t really get away from. When you think she’s gone she comes back with another song, album or re-release of an album and she starts chart topping all over again. Fearless sent her on a wild ride, winning every music award possible, so the pressure is kind of on for her now. A couple of weeks ago she released her new single, Mine, which will be on her new album Speak Now! The single was released early because someone leaked it to the interwebs and they didn’t want to lose any money so they just put it out there. Gee, do you think someone will leak her album two weeks before it’s release date so we can get that early too? A girl can only dream, right?
I am a Taylor Swift fan. Her music makes me happy and it’s very carefree. She’s got good lyrics to go with good music. Her music just makes me feel like a girl and I like that. Today her video was released in a big way. I think I read something about the video being released on CMT and MTV at the same time, but I just saw it on the web.
The video is cute. It’s very Taylor Swift. And it’s a good representation of the song. If you didn’t know what the song meant before you know now. There’s one thing I can’t get past though: Taylor Swift as a mom. I am aware that she is old enough to be a mom and she would probably be a really fun mom. But it’s weird to see her acting that out in the video. I don’t know why it made me feel uncomfortable…maybe I do.
The last time we saw Taylor in a video she was a. singing about the boy next door not liking her back because she’s on the bleachers and not a cheerleader and b. she was in a forest singing about her best friend losing her virginity to a boy…and they cried all night. By the way, I hope Abigail was OK with Taylor spreading her personal business (because that’s a very personal subject) with everyone in the world! There wasn’t really a transition from high school to marriage and it just really rubbed me the wrong way, BUT I did like the video.
It was girlie, soft, and very Taylor. I liked the pictures hanging from the tree. I didn’t like how she seemed to be hamming it up for the camera. I kind of got the sense that she knew she was big stuff from her actions. It just didn’t seem like a normal Taylor video because it seemed so forced; it wasn’t natural like White Horse or even Fifteen! All in all, the song is a hit and the video is a hit too. I can’t wait until the album comes out!

I liked it. I like Taylor Swift because she reminds me of my younger days (much younger), and she has a sweet sound that’s so great in my ears. I was okay with the baby stuff, as I’ve met way too many young moms (including my daughters) who look like they’re 15.
